Just few weeks after the violent scenes when Ghana edged past Nigeria to qualify for the WorldCup2022, supporters of Kano Pillars subject referees to severe beatings after their league game against Katsina Utd didn’t go they way.

The ugly scenes ensued during their Nigeria Professional Football League Matchday 23 clash which ended in a barren draw against Katsina United. Pillars fans, angered by the result, turned to violence and damaged properties at the stadium including the bus of the visiting team on Saturday April 16, has let to massive fines by League Management Company (LMC).

Though Kano Pillars condemned the violent acts and blamed them on saboteurs, the LMC announced stiff punishments on the team.
The LMC slammed a total of N9 million fine on Pillars and banished the club from Kano to Abuja for their home games according to multiple online sources.
Pillars will also receive a three points deduction which will send them down to 16th place on the table with 24 points from 23 matches.
